Built to Spill was the best show I've ever seen, god bless them for understanding that it is okay to play your older songs when your older songs are amazing.
This has to be one of my top three* all time favorite bands, and has been for years, I am so glad that I went tonight.
highlights: liar, wherever you go, mess with time, car, reasons, in the morning, velvet waltz, you were right, time trap, fly around my pretty little miss, strange, randy described eternity, broken chairs
that was basically the entire set by the way. if it had stab, cortez the killer, and the plan, I would just never go to another show again.
the only thing i was disappointed by was the crowd, i was singing along with every song at the top of my lungs, EVERY song, and i was about 3 people back from the stage, no one near me was even mouthing the words. how does that happen? even if i just couldn't see the other people who were into it that still leaves the 20ish people around me not knowing any songs.
*its hard to make a good list. modest mouse is now shit, pedro the lion doesn't exist, so maybe built to spill is all i have. |
